Toyota SUV 4x4 Offroad Vehicles. Land Cruiser and Rav4 -
Rav4 RavA
Toyota is Japan's biggest car manufacturer, and also a big
global player in the world of SUVs.

The Toyota BJ was the first Toyota Land Cruiser - back in 1950
or so. The birth of this Toyota owed much to the fact that Toyota was well
involved in the USA in in a truck contract.
The mechanics of the first Toyota
4x4 off roader were similar to that project, and the BJ resembled the Jeep.
However the Japanese soldiers preferred the Jeep, and the BJ was a mini disaster
as far as the Toyota 4x4 introduction was concerned. |

|
Things changed, and soon Toyota became a world player in the
4x4 and SUV market.

The new Toyota Rav4 XT-R has all the normal RAV4 refinements.
These include 17-inch alloy wheels, superb climate control air conditioning, and
a glove box that is cooled! Front fog lamps naturally and of course the
electric/tilt sunroof. Audio controls are integrated on the leather steering
wheel. Toyota have added toned privacy glass and you get a choice of three cool
paint colours. These are Astral Black, metallic Carbon Quartz or metallic Tyrol
Silver.
The Toyota RAV4 XT-R comes with a choice of engines and transmissions being
either 2.2 D-4D 140 diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or the
petrol engine 2.0 VVT-I. There is a choice of a 5-speed manual or 4-speed
automatic transmission.
This new RAV4 also offers a big improvement with luggage space -
a 25% increase in load space compared to the previous models. There are
also some practical under-floor storage compartments.
